The Ball of Kerrymuir
This is a funny, bawdy drinking song from Ireland sung by Jim Croce. Be warned, it contains profane humor of a sexual nature. After you’ve heard the song, read more to read the verses I’ve come up with.

Usually I couldn’t care less about the local music scene. Just because they’re local doesn’t mean they don’t suck. So when I bought a coworker’s band’s CD, it was mostly an act of good will. Imagine my surprise when I heard A Week Away. They can all play their instruments. Joe Gillette can sing, and their lyrics are intelligent and soulful. There’s not a song on the album that’s a throwaway, and in a fairer world, this would be a $18 album while whatever crap you just heard from Ashlica Aguispears would be circling the drain of the fifty cent bargain bin. Go to the web site, buy the CD, and send me a than-you email. Oh, and Kale, you rock. Seriously.
Adding to the good impression I got was the show I saw last night. With an admitted minimum of preparation, AWA put on a good show with good energy for a very small open-air crowd. Despite a few technical glitches, the performance was good, and shows a band well on its way to a large and well deserved fan base. A little more planning and get that buzzing fixed, and they’ll have a tight set with good pacing and build, and a hammerblow finish.
Will Smith is very funny. Hitch is funny and sweet, and not entirely predictable, so it’s very much worth a watch. If you’re looking to be entertained and either love or hate the thought of love, give it a look.
In case the Oscars didn’t get the point across, this is a really good movie. Shot with loving use of shadows, the look of MDB is very distinctive. The plot of the movie seems pretty familiar right up until the point where it wallops you in the head with a mean twist. It will take you on a bit of a roller coaster ride, so be prepared.
