So on a non site-centric topic, the meteoric rise of oil prices has caused a new oil well to be drilled on the scenic country drive that leads to my family home. I’m a little worried, because the contract upon which my parents purchased the property reserves them the mineral rights for the first 500 feet, but puts no limits upon how the previous owners can use the surface and our 500 feet of earth if they decide to go exploring below that depth. I’m helping my mom to explore her options here, but I’m nervous. Any advice or experience would be welcome.

Now I’ve got Google ads. I’m gonna put in a search bar and fix up the colors, but then I should be done with the general look and feel. Any comments?

Okay. Hopefully this thing is back up now. I’ve spent a couple of weeks trying to recover the damned thing, but I guess I’m gonna have to re-enter my last several entries from my backup. Somehow my login information got hosed on my Moveable Type install. I may go ahead and upgrade while I’m at it, but we’ll see. I have my entries stored, and I’ll have to re-post them when I can.
